Anna Chisena

PhD

Anna G. Chisena holds a PhD in Civiltà dell’Umanesimo e del Rinascimento (University of Florence and Paris-Sorbonne). From 2016 to 2018 she was Cultore della materia in the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Florence. She was F. Yates Short-term fellow at the Warburg Institute of London (2016) and Post-doctoral fellow at the Herzog August Bibliothek of Wolfenbüttel (2018).

In her doctoral thesis, she prepared the first critical edition, the translation and a commentary of Basinio da Parma’s Astronomicon libri (she is currently revising her new critical edition for publication).

Her research interests include Humanistic literature, Neo-latin poetry as well as Dante studies. She is also currently working on astronomical theories and sources in Dante’s works.

At the Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies, she is working on FWF funded project on Basinio da Parma’s Hesperis.
