‚Burckhardt’s Renaissance, 150 Years Later‘

The LBI is pleased to announce the launch of ‚Burckhardt’s Renaissance, 150 Years Later‘, a collection of essays edited by LBI Junior Researcher Oren Margolis, now available online.

These papers originated in a conference held in Oxford to mark the 150th anniversary of The Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy by Jacob Burckhardt, and together they provide a fresh and often challenging look at a classic work:

This online resource is supported by the Society for the Study of Medieval Languages and Literature, and has been created with the help of Dr David Rundle.  Dr Rundle is the editor of a forthcoming volume entitled Humanism in Fifteenth-Century Europe (Oxford, 2012), and has collaborated with Dr Margolis in writing the accompanying biographical index of Italian humanists of the fifteenth century.
