Job

The Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft GmbH advertises the post of Academic director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies in Innsbruck.

The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies (LBI Neo-Latin) is a research institute in the humanities founded in January 2011 for a period of seven years. The LBI Neo-Latin conducts research into Neo-Latin literature, with particular reference to its cultural relevance and impact in the early modern period and beyond. This interest is explored in the three programme lines Politics, Religion, and History of Mentalities, in which specific individual projects are located. There are currently 17 international staff working at the LBI Neo-Latin; their different academic backgrounds (classical philology, history, German, English, Romance languages) reflect the cross-disciplinary approach of the Institute. The LBI Neo-Latin will continue to operate until December 2017 following the positive interim evaluation completed in February 2014. There is a possibility of further extension up to a maximum of 7 years. For more information on the LBI Neo-Latin, see http://neolatin.lbg.ac.at/.
