Students from Ottobrunn at the LBI

On 21 October 2024, former LBI employee, Theresa Rothfuß, who now teaches Latin at the Ottobrunn Grammar School in Bavaria, visited the LBI: Together with her 11th grade students, she is currently editing a Neo-Latin poem by Lucas Geizkofler (Ergo mihi uxorem qualem ducam, c. 1580) as part of the project seminar Zeitmaschine (time machine). In addition to the philological skills that the students acquire, these seminars are also about getting to know different professions. This way, we were not only able to present them with the wide range of Neo-Latin research, but also to introduce them to the job description of a researcher with all its advantages and disadvantages. The students were particularly interested in the use of digital techniques, which Lev Shadrin (see picture) demonstrated to them using the Greek diary of Karl Benedikt Hase.
