University of Innsbruck lays the foundation stone for the successor institute of our LBI

On 1st July 2020, the University of Innsbruck, one of the four official partners of the LBI for Neo-Latin Studies, established a new institute, into which the LBI will now be successively transferred before it becomes its full successor in 2025.

The new university institute is called “Department of Classical Philology and Neo-Latin Studies” and will concentrate all Latin (and Greek) activities in Innsbruck. This foundation is part of the Continuation Concept, which ensures that Neo-Latin research in Innsbruck can continue even after the LBI expires.
