Workshop internacional de la red de investigación Opera medica

On 21st–22nd October 2021, the research network Opera Medica celebrated an international workshop at the Universidad de Valladolid, bringing together its various constituent teams and research projects alongside a series of invited contributors.

The workshop, organised by Ma. Teresa Santamaría Hernandez (UCLM) and Ana Isabel Martín Ferreira (UVa), was entitled Recuperación del patrimonio textual de la ciencia europea, avances, carencias y perspectivas de futuro. It saw contributions from universities across Spain, from San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife to Oviedo, Asturias, as well as from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. William M. Barton represented the LBI at the workshop as part of the research group Artes Neolatinae, to which the institute’s Science Line has belonged since 2020. William offered two contributions, of which the second “La tradición ‘literaria’ latina en la ciencia moderna” constituted the final talk of his fellowship at the Universidad de Castilla-la Mancha financed through the Interpretes Medicinae research project.
