Maria Maciejewska
Maria completed Inter-domain Individual Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences and received her master’s degree in Classical Philology from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. As part of the academic requirements she completed an archival studies and editing course. In 2015 Maria participated in the Erasmus programme: she went to Rome and researched at Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu.
Maria’s research to date has focused on the life and work of Michael Boym SI, Polish missionary and Ming envoy to Europe. For her BA thesis she prepared an edition of Litterae Servi Ecclesiae, a libellous letter questioning Boym’s credibility. In 2017 she successfully defended her MA thesis on the unpublished Boym’s work entitled Brevis Sinarum Imperii Descriptio. Both of these dissertations were supervised by Prof. Monika Miazek-Męczyńska.
From July 2017 to September 2019 Maria was working on the joint Austrian-Japanese project Japan on the Jesuit stage.
